Become a Volunteer!
Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Center and are essential to the hardworking staff. If you want to give back to your community, if you treasure and enjoy the arts, or if you simply love historic buildings, we invite you to call Kay Boone at 923-2900 to learn about the various opportunities available at the Center. We hope you will join our dedicated and fantastic team! You will be rewarded by having the opportunity to earn a 20% discount in Jester’s Gift Shop and/or qualify for free tickets to performances for every twelve volunteer hours! You will also be recognized at special appreciation events at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts.
At the Center we have volunteers of all ages. Each volunteer’s unique characteristics will help make our guests’ experience at the Center more memorable. Volunteers are often the first person that our guests see and you create that first impression of the Center. Many of the people you see at our events are in fact volunteers. The Center has many volunteers who seat guests at performances, sell performance merchandise during shows, work in the gift shop, Jester’s, and even arrange floral centerpieces. Volunteers, like you, take on a variety of other tasks including greeting guests, working with the display cases, taking calls at the reception desk, working at the information desk and preparing office mailings, all which enhance the Center’s activities.
Regular Volunteering Opportunities Include:

These jobs are for those who feel comfortable handling money.
