Nansemond River High School presents its Annual Spring Musical, The Wizard of Oz, at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts on Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22.
This fun-loving, music-filled production showcases the much-loved Broadway show and feature film with Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman and all your favorite characters! Experience “Over the Rainbow,” along with the familiar songs that generations know and love as performed by the talented students at our own Nansemond River High School. After a successful production run at the high school, the students and director are thrilled to bring this theatrical delight to the wonderful SCCA facility, located at 110 West Finney Avenue, in Suffolk, VA. The SCCA has partnered with NRHS to bring this program to the general public and to foster continued arts relationship with Suffolk Public Schools.
Performances will be held Friday, May 21 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, May 22 at 2 PM. Tickets are only $15 for general admission and $7 for students.
Directed by Dr. Joleen Neighbours, The Wizard of Oz is a welcome addition in the growing repertoire of productions at Nansemond River. Nansemond River High School is rapidly becoming well-known for its musicals, dramas and fine arts program, which has become a highlight of the high school experience for many Suffolk students.
